Value Network Principles

Today we visited Phu My Hung Corporations and toured its current project. The company is designing and developing communities in South Saigon that offer a more enjoyable place to live for Vietnamese and foreigners. Phu My Hung builds houses, condos, apartment complexes, schools, roads, bridges, and more. They strive towards more spaced out living areas with an abundance of green parks and scenery. Before Phu My Hung took on this project, South Saigon was useless marshland that no one dared to expand into. With new technology that allows for development on soft, wet ground and with an advanced business plan, Phu My Hung is setting an example for other development companies to dare to take on such an enormous and difficult project.
Phu My Hung imports raw materials from foreign countries and also uses material from within Vietnam. It sells directly to people, without having to go through a real-estate agency. It also sells space for small businesses to sell their goods to the people living in the new buildings to create a real community. Those businesses then pay Phu My Hung a percentage of their revenue.
The company must follow all safety and environmental regulations that are set by the government. Construction workers must be trained to use the equipment and machines correctly and safely, architects must be qualified to design urban communities, and other Phu My Hung employees must be skilled in business to sell and manage the sites.
